FAI — Italian National Trust
New visual identity system
Project introduction

In 2017, FAI, Fondo Ambiente Italiano (Italian National Trust), decided to revamp its visual identity, which was designed in 1977 by Pino Tovaglia and had evolved over the years. «The Foundation turned to Massimo Pitis, who is a keen admirer and scholar of Tovaglia’s work» (from the FAI website).
The project also included the development of a proprietary typeface, designed specifically for the Foundation: its proportions are inspired by the epigraphic tradition of ancient Rome, recalling the historical and cultural roots of the heritage protected by the FAI.
